Galettes are for savory crepes and are made from buckwheat flour. You can put anything you want into a galette.

The "Complète"  is an egg, a slice of ham and some cheese; or you can go fancy with scallops and some cream and mushrooms.

Ingredients for 10 galettes

  • 2-1/2 cups buckwheat flour
  • 3 cups water
  • 1-1/2 t salt
  • 1 egg

Directions to make Galettes :

  1. Whisk the ingredients until the dough is smooth with no lumps. Let it rest for 1 hour.
  2. Heat your crepe pan to hot and melt a little butter in it. Pour a thin layer of dough and spread it out so it covers the pan. Cook for about 30 seconds on each side.
  3. Lower the heat and add the fillings. Fold the galette in half, or each side up to still see a little of the fillings.
  4. If you want to serve all the galettes at once, keep the finished ones in the oven (140°F).

All galettes can be enjoyed with traditional hard Breton cider.

My wife and I are fairly seasoned travelers so when we decided to include a trip to France in our year long 50th Anniversary Celebration we wanted to do something different. We looked at group travel companies including those who specialize in "small" groups. None of them had the flavor we were looking for. In my search for somethin new I happened …

My boyfriend and I spent a week in Paris last month and we decided that we would do a couple of day-tours outside of the city during our trip. We really wanted to avoid the typical tour-bus day-tour and the crowds that come along with these kinds of tours – we wanted something more personalized that would allow us to go at our own pace. I found the …

Emilie was a joy to work with - we were completely pleased with our experience! Do not hesitate to use her services - she will do everything to make your trip perfect. We don't care for group/bus "one-size-fits-all" type of tours - but I didn't feel confident enough with my grasp of French to go it alone. France Just For You is the perfect solution …

My wife and I traveled in Provence and Dordogne in early April 2018. Whie the weather was mostly on the rainy/windy side, the trip was so well planned and organized, with so much to see, that we did not pay much attention to the weather. All B&Bs were excellent in terms of accommodation, food (sic!) and very welcoming. All hosts were bi-lingual and …

We enjoy drive yourself travel and located Emilie's France Just For You online. How fortunate we were. In September and early October we traveled 17 days in Loire, Bordeaux, Dordogne, Carcassonne and Provence. All the accommodations were in historic B&Bs. Our hosts were invariably gracious and helpful. At every stop Emilie included a home cooked …
