Bordeaux from Medoc vineyards
-
Start your journey in Bordeaux region staying for 3 nights in the Médoc, in a house surrounded by the vineyards. Your lovely hosts will be happy to share with you all the wine places that they keep selecting all year long.
- Built along the banks of the Garonne river the opulent merchants' homes are very specific to Bordeaux. The rise of colonial trade together with the growth of the wine industry contributed to the amazing expansion of the Gironde region during the 18th century.
- Spend a morning with Mary, a private guide, who will have you stroll around Bordeaux Unesco district and explain about the city, its history, gastronomy, architecture...
- In this region, you will find everything you need: from villages nestled into the Medoc or St Emilion vineyards, to the bustling night life in Bordeaux. Also, bear in mind that Bordeaux's Sainte Catherine Street is the longest shopping street in Europe!
- On the 4th day, you will drive North for about 3hrs30, towards the Loire Valley.
Central Loire Valley
- Your trip continues with 4 nights in a very pleasant family house which is located half-way between Blois and Amboise, in the heart of the "castle country." Also, a Michelin-star restaurant is only 1.5 miles away . . . a great opportunity to plan for an extraordinary dinner !
- From here, you will explore the Loire Valley's most famous sites: Chambord or Chenonceau, Chaumont gardens and if you want to do some shopping, you may enjoy Tours.
- Touraine is also famous for its vineyards and we plan for you to relax on a typical boat on the Loire river, while enjoying a commented old-vintages wine tasting.
-
You will also wander into tiny villages dotted along the Loire river and get a taste of French gastronomy in restaurants and local markets we have tested for you. Feel the real French "good life" strolling around peaceful villages on market days.
On your last day, you can chose where you want to return the car: you can drive 3 hours to Paris, 3hrs30 to CDG Airport or drop off the car in the Loire Valley and take a high speed train to your next destination.
Welcome to France!
